baking

As my husband has decided to take over most of the baking (not that I am complaining) I made some of these just to keep my hand in. They are very easy to make. Basically they are a plain bun baked in a muffin tin, with a surprise blob of jam cooked in the middle. We think they are really delicious.

Tuesday 22 November 2011

We were down to 1/2 a cord of wood so yesterday we arranged for a new delivery, which duly arrived and was stacked for us by the very kind man who delivered it. As you can see he stacked it far better than we could.
At the time this pic was taken we still had another trailer full to be stacked.

Weather

well there is bright sunshine today which hopefully means the winter will be much shorter than last year and we are making savings on fuel.
@crypticchris made these cup cakes to take to dog training.there were only 6 people there and as he made 12 cup cakes I expected some would return, but guess what he returned with an empty cake box, oh well at least it saved me from myself.

Cheese scone round

having decided that it was time for me to teach him to cook, my husband decided his first adventure in the kitchen would be to make a cheese scone round and although it could have done with being rolled out a little thinner it was really delicious, he was very proud of himself

A long time coming

well I see this is my first blog since April, just shows how busy I have been in the garden, not only that but my dear other half after nearly half a century of allowing me to cook for him has decided he now wants to learn to cook for himself. This is him in his pinny that was clean 2 minutes ago, ah bless him he does try
